“how black women are leading the soft life movement”

as our ancestor, Audre Lorde once said: “caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”

real ones know we’ve been sharing the concept of softness/the soft life as a life practice for years 🤭💕 “the soft life” goes beyond luxury apartments, spa trips, and going to Pilates class 3x/week (although there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, obvi). it’s about embracing self compassion, ease and flow towards yourself, and inviting softness whenever and wherever you can.

from sharing topics on saddie baddies such as weathering to being Black at work, we’ll always advocate and create safe spaces for us, by us.

huge thanks to Our Body Politic (an NPR syndicated podcast) and guest host, Mara S. Campo, for featuring saddie baddies and The Soft Life Pod for this incredible episode “how Black women are leading the soft life movement” with fellow guests: Zee Clarke and Dr. Judith Joseph 🤎
